Jennifer Heinen (sundance_safari99@yahoo.com) September 22, 2001 If you think it would be helpful, by all
means feel free to post my comments on our "current
news" site. Please give my regards to all my fellow
classmates and tell them that I hope their loved ones
were spared in this horrible tragedy. How is it that
we lose some of the "good guys" first? like Ronny:
He was always kind, humerous, and a gentlemen. Our
class was and is, special. I am looking forward to
the 50th! Love and warmest regards to all, Jennifer
PS. My husband, Joe, just returned from Cairo last
night. He was there for the past two weeks and
experienced the horrific news from there. He was
disgusted with the attitude of many of the right-wing
Muslims. Egyptian businessmen we had known for many
years were privately sad and expressed condolences to
him, but they were careful not to express these
sentiments in public. At one point, Joe went to a
cypercafe to send me an email because he wanted an
answer to a question as quickly as possible. As soon
as they discovered he spoke English, he was
immediately catagorized as an American (dress, speech,
etc.) and immediately told to leave the premises
because they were "closing".....at 10 in the morning!
I should add, Joe speaks a pretty good Arabic!
It was many little things like this that let you
know where you stand with them. We have plans to pull
the yacht from the Red Sea and transfer to the Med. We
are both so tired of these idiots taking the best of
America and throwing rocks at the rest. Enough of my
babbling....hope all continues to be well with you and
Melissa.

Dear Coy, thank you so much for the notice. I am so
sorry to learn of Ronny's death. Do you know that he
was my very first "boyfriend"? He took me to the
Patrol Boys' Formal Dance in 7th grade! So many
memories.
We are doing ok here in Germany. Naturally, everyone
is devasted by the tragedy. My high school students
are having a fund raiser this weekend and donating all
the profits to the familys of the NYC firemen.
Our schools were closed for two days as new security
measures were added. We have armed soldiers guarding
the base and installations on the base. I do not have
any concerns for my safety or for that of the others.
I do not think anyone is safe from terrorism. I will
have to fly in October back to Atlanta to attend the
wedding of my only son, Eric. I will not be
intimidated by some tinhorn terrorist!
Take good care of one another and know that you are in
my thoughts and prayers. Special hugs and love,
Jennifer
